In Mukachevo, the police detained an attacker who was transporting a grenade in a car.

Police officers of Zakarpattia continue to take measures to prevent the spread of illegal weapons and ammunition in the region.
According to operative information, a previously convicted 40-year-old resident of the village of Sofia, Mukachevo district, could be involved in the illegal handling of ammunition. The police searched for the suspect and searched his BMW X5 car, in which they found a hidden RGD-5 grenade.
The offender was detained and placed in a temporary detention center. On this fact, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.
Earlier, the suspect had already been detained by the border patrol while trying to illegally cross the state border. Then a combat pistol and ammunition were seized from the attacker. He has already been prosecuted for hooliganism.
According to the article now incriminated, the detainee faces up to 7 years in prison. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
