The air attack on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure on March 22 was the largest during the entire war — up to 50% of DTEK's generation facilities were damaged.

Ukrenergo and the Center for Strategic Communications reported on the state of the Ukrainian energy system after the terrorist attacks of the Russian Federation.

The head of NPC Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, said that the situation is currently difficult in Kharkiv, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv region. But there is no threat of negative consequences for the energy supply of the whole of Ukraine.

The worst situation is in Kharkiv, the Russians destroyed the largest thermal power plant in the region. Hundreds of thousands of consumers were left without electricity.

This morning, Ukrenergo increased the capacity of reliable power supply to the city Odesa, in the morning the power engineers managed to stabilize the situation in the power system, which made it possible to return to the schedules of planned outages.

The head of NPC Ukrenergo noted:

After the attack on Kryvyi Rih, we also plan to level the situation. Well, the worst situation is really in Kharkiv. There, the enemy tried to destroy almost all the main level facilities that supply the city with ballistics. These are several of our substations through which we transmit electricity to the city, as well as local power plants, where it takes a little more time to recover.

Thanks to the Defense Forces, it was possible to prevent Russian plans to arrange an energy collapse in winter, when the population is especially vulnerable to the lack of power supply. Now power engineers are making efforts to restore electricity supply to the homes of Ukrainians. There are already successes and the deficit will be eliminated in the near future.

StratCom noted that the victims of attacks against the Ukrainian energy sector are primarily civilians. Thus, Russia is deliberately implementing terrorist tactics, disregarding international humanitarian law.
