In the Red Sea, the Houthis cut global internet cables, causing severe damage.
According to Sky news, this affected 25% of traffic passing through the Red Sea on lines transmitting data to Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Among the damaged cables are Asia-Africa-Europe 1, Europe-India Gateway, Seacom and TGN-Gulf. Hong Kong-based HGC Global Communications reported the incidents.
In total, 4 out of 15 submarine cables were critically damaged.
