The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has provided clarification on the new mobilization draft law No. 10449, which provides for a number of changes in the system of mobilization and military training of citizens.

This became known from the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense.

Therefore, after considering thousands of amendments, the new draft law proposes to mobilize young people from the age of 25. The maximum mobilization age will remain unchanged at 60 years.

In addition, from 2025, basic military training will be introduced in higher education institutions. However, some categories of citizens may be exempt from it.

Also, instead of fixed-term service, basic military service is introduced for a period of 5 months in peacetime and 3 months in wartime. At the same time, citizens from the age of 18 can independently choose the time of basic military service.

Importantly, citizens from the age of 18, regardless of basic military training or service, will receive a deferral until they reach mobilization age (i.e. up to 25 years).
