Men will be required to register for military service within 60 days from the date of entry into force of the new law.

MPs submitted about 4,000 amendments to the draft law on mobilization developed by the government. Currently, they are being considered in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada, in order to then systematize and put to a vote in the second reading. In particular, the deputies proposed to introduce military registration of pensioners.

Who are we talking about, said the publication novyny.live.

The amendment to the law will not apply to all Ukrainian pensioners, but only to those males who have not yet reached the age of 60, but are already retired. We are talking about citizens who worked in law enforcement agencies and, according to the law, retired long before the age of 60.

If the deputies vote for the proposed amendment to the draft law, then pensioners who worked in law enforcement agencies and who are not yet 60 years old will have to register for military service with the TCC.

In particular, former employees will be subject to military registration:

  • the National Police of Ukraine;

  • officers and rank-and-file personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;

  • Operational and Rescue Service of Civil Protection, Civil Protection Bodies and Units;

  • State Bureau of Investigation;

  • State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine;

  • Court Security Services;

  • State Tax Service;

  • State Customs Service;

  • Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

At the same time, the head of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People" Davyd Arakhamia proposed exceptions to this norm for:

  • employees of the State Bureau of Investigation who do not have special awards;

  • employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

That is, if this amendment is adopted, then these two categories of security forces will not be subject to military registration.

The rest of the representatives of the above categories will be required to register for military service within 60 days from the date of entry into force of the new law.
