On March 31, at about 5.30 p.m., a traffic accident occurred in the village of Nyzhnie Synyovydne, Stryi district.
This was reported by the Police of Lviv oblast.
According to preliminary data, Volkswagen Bora and Nissan Leaf cars collided. The driver of the Nisan, a 52-year-old resident of Stryi, was injured and taken to the hospital. Her passenger, a resident of the same age as the district center, died at the scene from his injuries.
Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Region Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for punishment - imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. A pre-trial investigation is underway.
