Investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia region exposed an employee of the Mukachevo City Council on official negligence. The woman, while preparing for the heating season in 2022, was negligent in performing her duties.

This was reported by the Police of Transcarpathian region.

Violations during the purchase of boilers

The official, contrary to the official procedure, committed violations during the purchase of boilers for educational institutions in Mukachevo district. On the basis of the documents provided by the official, the city council entered into an agreement with the supplier without monitoring the market and analyzing prices.

Expert opinion

According to the expert's conclusion, the actual cost of the equipment purchased from the supplier was twice as high as the market price. As a result of these actions, the official caused almost three million hryvnias in losses to the community.

Suspicion and suspension

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office, served the offender a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. official negligence that caused grave consequences. She was suspended from her duties.

Possible consequences

The offender faces up to five years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years. The investigation is ongoing.
