Ukraine and Hungary agreed on the opening of the Velika Palad - Nagyhodos checkpoint for passenger vehicles, as well as the possibility of moving empty trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons at the Luzhanka - Beregsuranyi checkpoint.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.

As noted, the relevant amendments to the agreement between the governments of the countries on border traffic control were signed by the Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and the Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine Heizera Antala.

"The signed amendments to the agreement with Hungary allow us to start planning design and infrastructure work for the launch of a new checkpoint "Velyka Palad - Nagyhodos" and ensuring the movement of empty trucks at Luzhanka," Kubrakova said.

The parties are also considering the possibility of building a new cargo checkpoint "Dyjda - Beregdaroc" in order to increase the capacity of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

In addition, according to the minister, Ukraine is working to start negotiations on joint customs and border control with Hungary in order to speed up border crossing.

It is noted that after signing the amendments to the agreement, the document must be ratified.
