Kindergartens will be taken up in Ukraine: a well-known reason

According to the Language Ombudsman, some names of pre-school educational institutions do not meet the standards of the state language.

Language Ombudsman Taras Kremin said that he receives many complaints about kindergartens that have Russian-language names. He calls for bringing the names of kindergartens in line with the norms of spelling and standards of the state language.

The Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Taras Kremin, calls on local self-government bodies, local military administrations and owners of private educational institutions to bring the names of preschool educational institutions in line with the norms of Ukrainian spelling and state language standards.

"We receive numerous complaints about the names of pre-school educational institutions, which are Russian-speaking, do not meet the standards of the state language, and some are just common sense," Kremin said.

In particular, during a random check of the names of preschool education institutions in the register of educational entities, the following names were found: "Ivushka", "Ladonki", "Karandashkino", "Solnyshko", "Kuznechyk", "Vasylok", "Topolok", "Zorenka", "Zainka", "Cheryomushki", "Roma + Mashka", "KulBabochka", "Ingerash", "Mugurel", "Universal Prikindeilor", "Endeckert", "Pachirta", "Montessori Family", "British Kids", "Speak English", "Greenrise Kids".

The Language Ombudsman stressed the need to defend the priority of the state language in all spheres of life, as it is to strengthen national interests and strengthen national security. Kremin called on local authorities to make every effort to get rid of foreign language distortions in the names of preschool education institutions forever.
