If there is no help from Western partners, or if it is insufficient, then budget problems will become tangible for all Ukrainians.
Ukrainians do not yet experience major problems with the delay in salaries and social benefits. However, in the second half of the year, the situation may be different: the government will not be able to fulfill all its obligations on time, TSN writes .
This was announced on the air of the national telethon by the head of the Ministry of Finance Serhii Marchenko.
Government officials are already forced to think about how to patch up the financial holes that arise in the budget. But so far, this is only a headache for the government, ordinary Ukrainians, including those who receive salaries from the budget, do not yet experience a lack of funding.
"We are already experiencing a certain shortage of funds, but the citizens of Ukraine are not yet feeling it. We are finding resources to cover these needs," said Sergii Marchenko.
But it can't go on like this for long. If there is no help from Western partners, or it is insufficient, then budget problems will become tangible for everyone. Our own reserves and our own resources will somehow be enough to last the first half of the year. Funds from the EU, which should come to Ukraine in March, and a loan from the World Bank, which also seems to have already been resolved, will help here.
"I think that we can go through the first half of the year painlessly, because we see that there are already clear calculations for European assistance. We have also done everything necessary to receive assistance from the World Bank. That is, these funds will allow us to overlap," he said.
According to the minister's forecast, in the absence of financial support, first of all, we are talking about assistance from the United States, the second half of the year will be difficult for Ukrainians. Then delays in salaries, late payment of pensions and delays in social payments will begin.
