Earlier, the mobile operator submitted an application and received permission to use the new code.
The mobile operator Kyivstar has informed subscribers that it is preparing to launch new phone numbers. What is known about the new product?
Currently, Kyivstar uses five national network codes. Yes, the phone numbers of this mobile operator start with the numbers 67, 68, 96, 97, and 98. But soon there will be new numbers on sale, starting with +380 77.
This is stated in the statement of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Provision of Postal Services (NCEC).
"The NCEC decided to issue a permit to the applicant to use the destination network code "77" for the mobile network," the statement said.
It is also noted that the relevant permit is designed for five years, and it will enable the mobile operator to connect another 10 million new subscribers. Therefore, the launch of the additional code will not affect the current numbers in any way.
"The remaining free numbering resource is not enough to meet the needs of Kyivstar subscribers in the next two years," the official application for the new code says.
As Kyivstar representatives noted in their appeal, the new code will avoid a shortage of free numbers. In addition, it will enable further sustainable development of services, create a resource in case of emergencies in the network of other telecom operators, and also allow establishing a quarantine period for the existing numbering resource to reduce the number of complaints from customers.
