French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Russia has no right to interfere in the issue of deploying European troops on Ukrainian territory.
The French leader said this in an interview with Le Parisien, emphasizing that Ukraine, as an independent state, has the full right to invite allied troops.
"Ukraine is a sovereign state, and if it requests allied troops to be present on its territory, it is not Russia's business to accept them or not," Macron stressed.
About the France and UK plan
Commenting on the joint peace plan of France and the United Kingdom, which is almost finalized, Macron explained that it is not about forming a large military contingent.
"It is about deploying several thousand troops from each country at key locations for training programs and demonstrating our long-term support," the French president noted.
