She once dreamed of becoming a psychiatrist, but was never able to graduate from college.

A young woman suffering from depression, autism and borderline personality disorder will end her life with euthanasia.

She told The Free Post about this.

28-year-old Zoraya ter Beek lives in a small village in the Netherlands, near the German border, and will take her own life in May due to euthanasia.

Even though she lives with her 40-year-old boyfriend in a house with two cats, she says she's tired of life.

The psychiatrist told her, "There's nothing more we can do for you. It never gets any better."

This was the moment when Zoraya decided that she wanted to die: "I was always clear that if I didn't get better, I wouldn't be able to do it anymore."

She plans to be cremated so her boyfriend doesn't have to clean her grave.Zoraya said that the euthanasia will take place on her couch and there will be no music playing during it. She explained that the doctor would first give her a sedative and then a drug that would stop her heart, and her boyfriend would be by her side all the time.

The woman said: "The doctor is really not in a hurry. It's not like he comes in and says, "Lie down, please!"

Most of the time, it's first a cup of coffee to calm the nerves and create a soft atmosphere. Then he asks if I'm ready. I take my place on the couch. He will ask me again if I'm sure and start the procedure, wishing me a safe journey. Or, in my case, have a good night's sleep, because I hate being told, "Have a good trip." I'm not going anywhere."

Zoraya doesn't have many relatives, so her boyfriend will find a good place in the forest to scatter her ashes.

She added: "I'm a little scared of death because it's a complete unknown. We don't know what will happen next – or nothing will happen? That's the scariest thing."

The Netherlands was the first country in the world to legalize assisted suicide in 2001. In 2022, there were 8,720 cases of euthanasia in the country, which is 5% of all deaths, which is 4% more than a year earlier.
