The tragedy happened in Mukachevo district.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region, on April 4, at 6:27 p.m., the Rescue Service received a report from police officers about the discovery of a body in the Latorytsia River near the village of Nyzhni Vorota.
The deceased was a man born in 1963, a resident of the same village. Probably, the man tried to cross the river in the direction of his house and could not stay on the current. Personnel of the fire and rescue post of the Lower Gate were sent to the place of the call, who removed the body from the water and handed it over to the police.
According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic medical examiner, death occurred as a result of drowning.
