Officers of internal and internal security and the operational and search unit of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment exposed a Ukrainian who illegally intended to cross the state border.

According to law enforcement officers, a 35-year-old resident of the Lviv region married a citizen with a disability the day before. In the future, the man intended to leave our country, as one who accompanies his wife. In order to ensure a reliable illegal border crossing, the pseudo-fiancé decided to "negotiate" with the border guard. For a superficial check of documents for the right to cross the border, Ukrainian offered the inspector of the Rava-Ruska department an improper benefit in in the amount of 2000 US dollars, to which he received a categorical refusal. During urgent investigative actions, an attempt to bribe a border guard was documented, the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports .

The operation was carried out by a joint interagency group consisting of internal and internal security officers and the operational and search unit of the State Border Guard Service, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Lviv region of the State Investigative Service of the National Police of Ukraine, investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region.

A citizen of Ukraine was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers notified the man of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 369 "Offer, promise or provision of an improper advantage to an official". The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of four to eight years. The investigation is ongoing.
