The state suffered millions in damages: a Transcarpathian fell under the "sight" of the Security Service of Ukraine (PHOTOS).

In Zakarpattia, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed an official of the Center for Administrative Services on land fraud.

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the state registrar of the district ASC, who illegally registered ownership of land belonging to the territorial community. As a result of his actions, the state suffered losses of almost UAH 1.5 million.

"It was established that the official entered false information about the ownership of land plots into the State Register of Property Rights to Real Estate. Thus, the land plots belonging to the territorial community became private property.
Law enforcers found that the state registrar illegally re-registered land with a total area of 1 hectare to a local resident," the statement reads.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings, the official was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 365-2 (abuse of authority by persons providing public services) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

He faces up to eight years in prison.

The operation was carried out jointly with investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zakarpattia region under the procedural supervision of Zakarpattia Region Prosecutor's Office.

Note: According to the first part of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
