No drones, no money: Fraudsters exposed in Ukraine for making millions on the needs of the Armed Forces

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the place of residence of the swindlers in Kyiv, Odesa and Volyn regions. Investigators found out that the victims were attracted by the cost of the goods offered, which was 20-25% less than the market price. In addition, the attackers did execute the first few orders to mislead the victims. Most of the customers did not receive either drones or money.

The criminal scheme was organized by two women who had previously used emergency situations in the country to deceive Ukrainians. During the blackouts, they sold and did not deliver 40 Starlinks, and during the gasoline crisis, they sold invalid fuel coupons. According to these proceedings, in 2023, investigators of the National Police have already served them with notices of suspicion and sent indictments to court.

After that, the women did not supply more than 600 drones of various types for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The swindlers and their accomplice were charged with fraud committed on an especially large scale by an organized group.

The main organizer of the scheme is hiding abroad. The police are taking measures to put her on the international wanted list. Two other defendants were detained and remanded in custody. They face up to twelve years in prison.
