The cities that will be affected by the rise in price have been named.

Water tariffs may increase by an average of more than 12% in April, and by more than 14% in July.

This was reported by Ukrainian Energy, referring to the draft resolutions of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC).

Price increases are planned in the following cities: Kyiv, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Nikopol, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Brovary, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Ternopil, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Drohobych.

Tariffs are proposed to be raised in two stages: from April 1 and from July 1, 2024.

"The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission announced that it plans to revise and increase tariffs for the first group of 7 water utilities located in the west of the country, and for the second group of 14 large water utilities in other territories. The increase will be significant – by 20, 30%, and sometimes even by 60%," said Oleh Popenko, chairman of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities of Ukraine.

However, in the cities that the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission did not mention in the draft resolutions, water tariffs will not remain the same. It's just that not all water utilities are subordinate to the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission – some tariffs are set by local authorities. And for the most part, she has already raised them.
