Yuriy Popovych died on May 9 in the hospital, where he was staying after a fatal wound.

The date and time of farewell to the Hero-Defender were announced on the network.

"Tomorrow, May 17, a farewell to the Hero Yuriy Poroshenko will take place
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we inform you that tomorrow, May 17, 2025, a farewell and funeral rite of the Defender of Ukraine, a native of the village of Osiy - Yuriy Poroshenko (born on 17.09.1987) will take place in our community," the message says.

Sagittarius is a sniper of the 1st Mechanized Squad of the 2nd Mechanized Platoon of the 3rd Mechanized Company of Military Unit A0243 of Military Unit A3425. Yuriy Poroshenko died on May 9 in the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital in Sumy as a result of injuries received while performing a combat mission to defend the Motherland near the village of Popovka (Belgorod region).

At 11.00 a.m. the farewell cortege will go from the pathological department of the city of Irshava to the village of Osiy through the village of Ilnytsia.

The procession will move through the village to their home, which is located at 46 Lozyanska Street, where a memorial service will be held.

At 13.00 k.h. the funeral rite will begin in the central St. George Orthodox Church in the village of Osiy.

The Hero will be buried at the Osiysk village cemetery.
