In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers exposed a 27-year-old resident of the Kharkiv region, who is suspected of human trafficking.
This was reported by the Police of Lviv oblast.
According to the investigation, the woman organized the departure of girls to European countries in order to further employ them in the sex industry.
Operatives of the Migration Police Department in Lviv region together with investigators of the Department of Investigation of Especially Serious Crimes of the Investigative Department of the Police of Lviv region and servicemen of the 7th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service exposed the activities of the offender.
The woman communicated with potential "clients" in various messengers on the Internet and negotiated with them, agreeing on the details of their transportation across the state border of Ukraine, as well as further employment in the field of intimate services. One of her victims, a 23-year-old resident of Kherson region, was offered such a 'job' in France on 'favourable terms'.
The woman was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 149 (Human Trafficking) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment - imprisonment for a term of three to eight years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the court chose a measure of restraint for the suspect - detention with the right to bail.
