Tonight, three young people between 22 and 27 years old decided to test the vigilance of border guards on the border with Romania. Information about possible illegal border crossing was provided in time by operational officers of the Chernivtsi detachment.
This was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The border patrol of the "Cherepkivka" department found and met the "night guests" 800 meters from the state border. The violators, residents of the Chernivtsi region, had foreign passports with them, but they decided to cross the border outside the checkpoint.
The detainees admitted that they intended to illegally cross the border on foot using navigation applications in their smartphones. The detainees were taken to the border guard unit and materials were drawn up under Art. 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The measure of punishment for them will be determined by the court.
