In Transcarpathia, the organizer and his accomplice, who smuggled men abroad, were detained "red-handed" (PHOTOS).

In Zakarpattia region, the police exposed a scheme of illegal border crossing.

This was reported by the Police of Transcarpathian region.

The organizer and his accomplice, a 45-year-old resident of the village of Tekovo, Beregovo district, and a 30-year-old resident of the village of Bushtyno, Tyachiv district, were detained on March 29. They organized the transportation of men of military age across the border for $6,500 per person.

During the detention, the offenders transported three clients to the border of the State Border of Ukraine on the outskirts of the village of Velyki Berehy, Beregovo district. A Volkswagen car, a motorcycle, mobile phones and foreign currency cash totalling $21,500 were seized from the scene.

Currently, the smugglers have been placed in a temporary detention center. Under the procedural guidance of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office, the detainees have already been notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation into the case is ongoing.
