Uzhgorod law enforcement officers detained an aggressive driver who violated traffic rules and injured a policeman.
The driver of a BMW car was making sharp maneuvers on one of the streets of the central part of Uzhgorod, not far from the pedestrian zone.
This was reported by the Police of Transcarpathian region.
The police tried to stop the violations in order to protect the people around them. At the lawful demands of law enforcement officers, the driver began to behave aggressively and inflicted bodily injuries on a police officer. The 37-year-old offender was detained immediately at the scene.
He is currently being investigated. In accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, he will be placed in a temporary detention center.
Investigators qualified such criminal actions of the detainee under Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to 5 years in prison. In addition, administrative materials will be drawn up against him for traffic violations.
