Undeclared at the border, 800 kg of elite seeds ended up in a customs warehouse.
At the customs post "Dyakove", officials of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Violations of Customs Rules of the Transcarpathian Customs prevented the illegal import of 800 kg of bean seeds, which were imported into the customs territory of Ukraine bypassing the declaration and payment of customs duties for further commercial sale.

"So, during customs formalities, the truck driver provided customs officers with shipping documents, which indicated that "edible vegetables: salad mix" weighing 5.2 tons were imported from Italy," the statement said.

However, when the inspectors carefully checked the refrigerated semi-trailer, they found in the tool box (palletizer) beans of the "CALLERIS FAGIOLI BORLOTTI" trademark, packaged in 160 packages of 5 kg each.
The driver acknowledged the undeclared goods as his property, saying that he had purchased them in Italy for his own needs. By the way, on the domestic market, such elite bean seeds cost 340 UAH per 1 kg.

Thus, in relation to the Transcarpathian carrier, a protocol was drawn up on violation of customs rules under Part 3 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine (non-declaration of goods moved across the customs border of Ukraine by citizens who are restricted on import into the customs territory of Ukraine). The sanctions of this article provide for the imposition of a fine in the amount of three hundred thousand rubles with possible confiscation of goods.

"Currently, imported beans, with a total weight of 800 kg, have been temporarily seized until the court decision," the customs said.
