On March 8, at 7:35 p.m., a traffic accident occurred in the village of Dobrotvir, Chervonograd district, as a result of which a 36-year-old local resident died.
According to preliminary data, the 21-year-old driver of the Kia car, a resident of one of the villages of the district, hit a pedestrian. The man died from his injuries on the way to the hospital, according to the Police of the Lviv region.
Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Region Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
