Law enforcers exposed an official of the district ASC on causing millions of losses to the state

In the course of the pre-trial investigation, investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia region, with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine, established that the 43-year-old state registrar of one of the district ASCs entered false information into the State Register of Property Rights to Real Estate and changed the ownership of land plots. As a result, the land belonging to the territorial community was illegally transferred to private ownership.

"The case documents the official's involvement in the illegal withdrawal of a land plot with an area of 1 hectare from state ownership. Such actions of the state registrar led to causing losses to the budget in the amount of almost 1.5 million hryvnias," the statement reads.

Investigators of the Regional Police Department collected enough evidence and, under the procedural guidance of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office, notified the official of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. abuse of authority by persons providing public services.

According to the sanction of the article, he faces up to 8 years in prison with or without confiscation of property.
