Traffic accident on the M-25 highway

This was reported on the website of the police of Transcarpathian region.

The day before, at 7:33 p.m., the "102" service received a report of a traffic accident that occurred on the M-25 highway, near the city of Chop, Uzhgorod district. A car and a horse-drawn cart collided there.

The investigative team at the scene found that a 34-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car was moving from the city of Chop in the direction of the village of Chervone. At that time, on an ignorant section of the road in the middle of the lane, there was a horse-drawn cart, with which the woman collided.

1 person killed, 6 injured

As a result of the accident, a 32-year-old Transcarpathian, who was in the cart, died at the scene. Six people, aged 59, 39, 12 and 7, were injured. Including the driver, as well as a 10-year-old child who was in a horse-drawn cart. They were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

The woman who was driving the car was examined - she was sober behind the wheel.

Police investigators entered this information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e. violation of traffic safety rules, which caused the death of the victim.

A number of examinations will be appointed in the case to establish all the objective circumstances of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
