The smuggler promised the men a legal border crossing through one of the checkpoints in Zakarpattia, but instead collected money from the men and left them alone by a boat on the river bank.
To cross the border in this way, a "guide" offered four men of military age, who led them to the bank of a river in Transcarpathia, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed .
At the same time, the day before, the dealers promised that the guys would cross the state border through one of the checkpoints without any problems. For which they had to pay 5 thousand euros.
However, when they saw the boat, the travelers panicked and refused such services, as the dealers did not even provide them with life jackets.
Realizing that the deal had failed, the guide left them in an unknown place to get there on their own.
Fortunately, the guys were discovered by border guards and, not taking advantage of such a scam, they remained alive and well, because such voyages ended tragically more than once.
