In Bukovyna, border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment stopped the illegal movement of tobacco products to Romania. At night, reacting to information from the operatives of the detachment, the border patrol of the "Selyatyn" department found two unknown persons with packages behind their backs.
This was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The offenders were exposed on one of the mountainous sections of the Ukrainian-Romanian border while moving to the state border. With the arrival of the servicemen, the men abandoned their stretchers and fled to avoid responsibility.
After checking the area adjacent to the border, border guards found packages containing 2 thousand packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps of Ukraine. After completing the relevant documents, the seized goods were handed over to law enforcement officers. According to preliminary estimates, its cost is more than 150 thousand hryvnias.
